“Within your heart lives the song of your soul. This song tells you where you come from, who you are, and what you are here to do.” ~M.B. DeMaria
This workshop requires no prior musical experience and will also change the way you think about and experience sound and music. This is about giving expression to what you feel through sound – which is a powerful and transformative practice. We heal and become whole through listening deeply to the voice within and expressing what we find – a powerful way to do this is through the ancient art of soul singing. The ancient art of finding one’s soul song was more about discovering who we really are and experiencing the depths of our innermost nature as opposed to creating something entertaining or playing other peoples music.
Dr. Michael Brant DeMaria, sound healing artist, integrative psychologist, author and 4-time Grammy nominated artist will help participants begin to discover their soul song during this two day workshop. Soul singing soothes us when we are struggling and gives us courage when we falter. Paradoxically, our gift often emerges not in spite of our wounds, but through our wounds. It is through healing our wounds that we discover our gifts we are here to give away to our people which is also ultimately our journey towards wholeness. No musical experience is required – and this practice is also a powerful way to learn a positive, creative way to release and let go of difficult emotions as well as experiencing a deeper connection, harmony of mind, body, heart and soul. Said another way, soul singing helps keep our emotional circulatory system running smoothly. You can find out more about Michael and his work at www.ontos.org or www.michaeldemaria.com
